Leighton Buzzard Level 4 meet

And

Barnet Kate Lack Trophy

It was a busy weekend for BSCSC with 2 different squads of swimmers in action on Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday saw the novice squad in action at the Stantonbury Campus pool, Milton Keynes for the Leighton Buzzard level 4 meet and 59 swims produced 34 personal best times, 9 speeding tickets, 5 golds, 6 silvers and three bronze medals but the standout swims came from Hannah Coulson who romped to her first County Qualifying time of the year in the 50 Free with an improvement of nearly a second (speeding ticket) and then took gold with a massive swim in the 50 Fly. Showing previously unseen fluidity of stroke and long underwater off the turn she destroyed her previous best time and there is a lot more to come as her confidence grows.

South Herts Trophy

At Furzefield; Potters Bar – Sat 31st March 2012

BSCSC had another mixed team of Novice swimmers and slightly more experienced ones at the annual ‘Pre-Peanuts’ gala held by Potters Bar SC. This is a regular event on the club’s calendar and gives a chance to see swimmers swim some events that maybe they would not normally do and also to act as a kind of trial for the league galas to be held in April to June. These are for swimmers between the ages of 9 & 12.

Parents Meeting

Dear All

Parents Meeting Sunday 1st April 6:15pm. Sports Centre Cafe

After a year of negotiation the club has made great headway with Sportspace for additional pooltime for our swimmers.  But before launch into this we wanted a chance to explain what is going on to everyone and so have organised a parents meeting.

It will be our chance to show you what changes we think would be needed to make the best use of the extra time, see how it may affect our swimmers, and explain our reasoning. It will also be your chance to get your questions and queries on the future of the club answered - including the financial implications.

County Championships Round 1

17th & 18th March

1 silver, 1 bronze and 1 regional qualifying time was scant reward for a weekend of superfast swimming by BSCSC’s confident team. A better record of how quickly they are improving would be the fact that in 54 individual swims there were 44 personal best times and 21 club records broken. 19 of the swims placed them in the top 8 in the county and they won 8, placed second in 10 and third in 9 of their heat swims for a fantastic first full weekend.
