Welcome to Berkhamsted Sports Centre Swimming Club (BSCSC) Website

The Club led by ASA Level 3 Coach, Geoff Wood, was set up around 1995 and is part funded by Dacorum Sports Trust and is affiliated to the ASA(Amateur Swimming Association). The club is best described as a family club and is proud of its caring and friendly atmosphere. However we also take part in a wide range of county level competitions, open meets and local galas.

In another incredibly successful weekend of swimming the simple statistics of 30 swimmers, 170 swims, 15 club records, 97 pbs, 2 Regional Qualifying times, 21 new county times (including 3 swimmers for who qualified for the first time this year) and 34 improved CQTs along with 14 Golds, 16 silvers and 12 bronzes cannot give any indication of how well the youngsters competed. Herts Major League - Round 1

Following on from their achievement in the National Arena League, BSCSC continued their successful season with a stunning victory in the Opening round of the Division 2 of the Herts Major League. With Assistant Coach, Martin Fuller leading the team in the absence of their Head Coach, Geoff Wood recovering from an eye operation, the squad showed its strength in depth across the age groups to claim 15 individual wins and a staggering 11 relay victories.

Final round 

BSCSC’s big adventure into the National Arena Swimming League came to a gripping climax on Saturday night. Having to travel to Clissold, near Hackney, in North London was tough enough in itself, arriving with just minutes to spare due to traffic conditions. But once in the pool, as usual, they gave it their best shot. In the end, possible promotion to Division 3 came down to the final relay and, in an exciting climax the Boys squad of Tim Warr (27.65pb), Tommy Sheldrick, Ben Rochford, Sam Gray, Andy Chambers and Jason Wells hung on to gain 3rd in the relay and enough points to finish equal third on the night. This places them third overall and should now mean a further step into the unknown of Division 2 swimming in the London regional league for 2012. A fantastic achievement at the end of a year of continual improvement.

Watford Middle Distance & Sprints meet

Woodside; Sunday 27th November

It was yet another massive day for BSCSC’s youngsters in the Watford Middle Distance & Sprints meet on Sunday.26 swimmers competed in over 100 races and produced excellent results, too numerous to mention in their entirety as they claimed a further 25 new County Qualifying times for 2012 with 3 first timers amongst the qualifiers.
